Haskell のコードは抽象データ型の特徴を際立たせるためにわざと冗長にしてあります。
Haskell の head と tail は Prelude で定義済みのものとぶつかるので ilHead、ilTail に変えました。
Smalltalk の example は遊びです。--sumim
